How it works
Launch in three simple steps
No hardware and no phone-system project. You get a number, you tell Megan about your business, and she starts answering.
1
Get your number
Search live carrier inventory for a local number in your area code, or pick a toll-free prefix — 800, 844, 855, 866, 877, or 888. Prefer to keep the number your customers already know? Forward it to Missd.AI instead and nothing on your trucks or listings has to change.
2
Set up Megan
Tell her the things a new receptionist would need on their first day: your hours, the services you offer, your service area, what you do not take on, and who a caller should be transferred to when they need a person. This is a form, not an integration project.
3
Start capturing leads
Point your number at Megan and she starts answering. Every call becomes a booking or a message in your dashboard, with a summary and full transcript attached.
On the call
What actually happens when someone rings
The part customers experience, start to finish.
1
She answers on the first ring
No hold music, no phone tree, no 'press 1 for service'. Megan picks up and speaks to the caller directly, at any hour of the day or night.
2
She works out what the caller needs
A price question, an emergency, a booking, or a wrong number all sound different. Megan holds a real conversation rather than reading a fixed script at them.
3
She captures the details that matter
Name, callback number, service address, and the nature of the job — collected while the caller is still on the line, so nobody has to ring back to ask the basics.
4
She transfers when a person is needed
If the call meets the conditions you set, Megan hands it to your transfer number warmly, having already logged what she knows so your team is not starting from nothing.
5
She writes it all down
The call lands in your dashboard as a booking or a message, with a plain-language summary and the full transcript.
Routing
Forwarding and transfers
Two different things people often mix up.
Forwarding a number in
This is how calls reach Megan. You tell your existing carrier to forward your business number to the number Missd.AI gives you. Customers keep dialling the number they already have, and Megan answers.
- Nothing printed or listed has to change
- Set up with your current carrier, not with us
- You can forward all calls, or only the ones you miss
Transferring a call out
This is how a caller reaches a human. You give Megan a transfer number — an owner, an on-call tech, the office — and the conditions for using it. When they are met, she hands the call over.
- You decide what counts as worth transferring
- Details are captured before the handoff
- If nobody picks up, Megan still takes the message
